Pemberton Vineyards

The drive from Margaret River to Pemberton was beautiful, with great forests and the famous tall trees engulfing the highway. Wines were first planted here in 1977 with Chardonnay and Pinot being the main varieties, although there are signs that Sauvignon Blanc could well put this area on the map.

There are very few tourist attractions or accommodation in this area, and it is advisable to book ahead for wine visits, but you will be well looked after. The whole are has an Italian village feel to it, it really is a wonderful place.

Picardy was our venue, but other fine vineyards include; Donnelly River Wines, Fonty’s Pool (a joint venture with Cape Mentelle) and Phillips Estate, altogether there are over 20 top quality vineyards in this area.
